Prunotto is located in Alba, the most important city of the Langhe district of Piedmont, equidistant from both Barbaresco and Barolo, in a rolling plain surrounded by the vineyards of both the Langhe and Roero areas. It is fully immersed in a landscape which seduces for the naturalness of the hills, which alternate with small valleys covered with vine rows which snake across the slopes.
The territory is fascinating and absorbing not merely for the scenery, the colors and the “silences” which it offers, but also for the historical testimony and the traditions which characterize it. The entire zone, with its castles and medieval villages, conserves an artistic and architectural patrimony which is among the most important and special of the Piedmont region.
The Antinori family, conquered by all of these factors, by a zone endowed with vineyards and soils so distinctive, decided to confront the challenge of this terroir with the conviction of beginning a program, a course of action which, today, has enabled Prunotto to occupy a position among the leading wine-producing houses of Piedmont.
